The Vark questionnaire presented me with the result that I am in fact a "kinesthetic" learner. I had however, done the questionnaire in secondry school so it was not a shock to me, as it wasn't then.
I have known for a number of years that I'm very much a "hands on" learner and that I enjoy learning the most when I feel as though I can interact with what I am studying. However, this is not to say that I learn most efficiently this way, just the way that I best prefer.
There is no singular way in which I learn most efficiently, it is entirely dependant upon the subject. For example; when I studied history at A-level, the best way for me to learn was by reading tens of books, writing essays and then reading more books. Yet when I studied GCSE music, I learnt in the most efficient way by making music, listening to music and performing, all of which could not have been replicated by reading books about music.
The Vark questionnaire and its results may be good as an indicator for what each person's best prefered method of learning is. But I don't feel it can be relied on too deeply as being a definate indicator of the way in which a person will learn most efficiently.
In addition to this, the questionnaire is easy to answer in a way so that you get the result you want. If I were to be given a number of different variations of the questionaire, it would be relatively simple to answer in a way so that each variation concluded I was a kinesthetic learner, or whichever other style of learning I so wished it to state.

Learning Line
Throughout my life, I have learnt skills which are invaluable to my successes. From beginning school I have acquired interpersonal skills, by learning to play musical instruments I have had the chance to develop my creative skills and by putting myself into new situations and placements such as working within a design team, moving away from home and starting university and a new job I aim to continue building on the skills I have already laid the foundation of.
Each new opportunity which has been made available to me, I have endeavoured to take advantage of and work to its full potential. By starting at Anglia Ruskin I hope to learn to become more independent and self-assured as it is an essential life skill that I am sure can only be gained through first-hand experience!
